68th Annual Shrimp and Petroleum Festival

The Shrimp and Petroleum Festival is more than a celebration! It's a commitment !! From the arrival of the jumbo shrimp off the coast in 1935, to the drilling of the first offshore oil well in 1947, Morgan City has been the center of these two great industries. Through it all, we have shown that man can progress and utilize the resources available to him without damaging the environment. The festival which we celebrate is a tribute to the ability of these two diverse industries to co-exist prosperously with the people of our area.
